During the meeting, the Council reviewed the country's determined operations against armed organizations, including PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETO, and DAESH, both domestically and abroad. The Council reaffirmed Türkiye's commitment to ensuring national unity and solidarity amidst persistent threats.
The Council emphasized the need for adherence to international law and UN Security Council resolutions to halt Israel's ongoing aggression and massacres in the region. Türkiye expressed hope for a permanent ceasefire in Lebanon and reiterated its support for a fair and lasting resolution to the Palestine issue.
Regarding Syria, the Council highlighted the importance of protecting civilians and their properties, urging the Syrian regime to reconcile with its people and the legitimate opposition. Türkiye reaffirmed its support for Syria’s territorial integrity and pledged to counter any terrorist threats exploiting regional instability.
The ongoing war in Ukraine was also discussed, with the Council stressing the urgency of de-escalating the conflict, securing an immediate ceasefire, and working towards a just peace.
