According to a statement from the Governorate, "62,697 extremist settlers entered the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, performing Talmudic rituals and provocative prayers under the strict protection of Israeli occupation forces. Among them, 198 settlers stormed the site today alone."

The statement also detailed the escalating violence in occupied Jerusalem. Since October 7, at least 80 Palestinians have been killed, and 279 others have been injured by live and rubber-coated bullets. Additionally, 1,971 Palestinians have been detained during the same period.

Israeli courts have issued 107 house arrest orders, while 389 demolitions have been carried out, targeting Palestinian homes, commercial properties, and agricultural facilities.

The Governorate highlighted a recent demolition order issued by Israeli authorities against the Abu Shafi’i family in the Al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan. The family has been given a 14-day notice to vacate and demolish their property.

The developments come amidst heightened tensions in Jerusalem, with Palestinian communities facing increasing displacement and violence as Israel intensifies its occupation policies. (ILKHA)
