The strike, carried out by YAF naval units using ballistic and naval missiles, reportedly resulted in a direct hit.
Violation of Restrictions Leads to Targeting
In a statement, YAF explained that the ship was attacked after ignoring warnings from Yemeni naval forces. The vessel’s owners were accused of breaching restrictions on access to ports in occupied Palestine, prompting the military action.
The YAF reiterated its intent to enforce a naval blockade against Israel, warning that any vessel linked to or heading for Israeli-controlled ports would face similar consequences.
Ongoing Strikes and Objectives
The YAF also emphasized its broader campaign against Israeli assets, stating that missile and drone strikes will persist until three conditions are met:
1-The cessation of aggression against Gaza.
2-The lifting of the Gaza Strip siege.
3-The end of hostilities in Lebanon.
YAF spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed that recent drone strikes targeted military and strategic sites in Tel Aviv (Yafa) and Ashkelon (Askalan) as part of a broader escalation strategy. He declared these operations successful, framing them as support for the "oppressed Palestinian and Lebanese people" and their resistance movements.
Solidarity with Resistance Movements
According to Saree, the recent military activities are part of the fifth phase of escalations and are a response to "crimes committed by the Israeli occupation" in Gaza and Lebanon. He affirmed that the operations would continue until the aggression ceases and humanitarian conditions improve.
The Yemeni Armed Forces' actions reflect a growing regional alignment with Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements, further intensifying the already volatile dynamics in the Middle East. (ILKHA)
