The statement said multiple drones targeted a “vital site” in the city as part of the resistance group’s ongoing efforts in support of Palestinians in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Iraqi Islamic Resistance emphasized that the operation was carried out in response to Israel’s military actions in Gaza, which it described as genocidal. It vowed that these strikes against what it calls “occupier positions and centers” will continue and intensify over time.
The resistance group has reportedly conducted numerous operations against sensitive targets in Israeli-held territories since October 7, 2023, the date it claims Israel escalated its military operations in Gaza. According to reports, these attacks have been framed as retaliatory measures to counteract what the group views as Israeli and U.S. aggression in the region.
In addition to targeting Israeli sites, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance coalition has carried out attacks on U.S. military installations in Iraq and Syria, citing opposition to Washington's military and intelligence support for Israel's Gaza offensive.
As of the latest figures, at least 43,665 Palestinians, including many women and children, have reportedly lost their lives in Gaza due to ongoing hostilities, underscoring the severe toll of the conflict as regional tensions remain high. (ILKHA)
