The Cadre Harmonisé Analysis Report projects that a staggering 33.1 million people across 26 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will face severe food and nutrition crises between June and August 2025. This alarming figure includes over 500,000 internally displaced persons in Borno, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.
The report highlights the urgent need for immediate action to address the impending crisis. The affected states include key agricultural regions as well as areas grappling with ongoing conflicts and displacement.
FAO Country Representative Kouacou Koffy emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach involving the government, international organizations, and local communities to mitigate the impact of this crisis. (ILKHA)
