Salami’s comments, made at a cultural event in Fars Province on Thursday, come in response to Israel’s attack on Iran on October 26.
In his speech, Major General Salami criticized Israel’s belief that a missile strike could alter regional dynamics, stating: “The Israelis are wrong to think they can change history by launching a number of missiles.” He highlighted Iran’s retaliatory operation known as “True Promise II” on October 1, recalling how Iranian missiles bypassed Israeli air defenses.
Following Israel’s recent strike, Iran’s Air Defense Base confirmed that Iranian air defenses intercepted the attack, though some damage was incurred, which is currently under assessment. A statement from the Iranian Army noted that four servicemen had lost their lives in the confrontation.
The IRGC commander’s warning underscores escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, with Iran signaling its readiness to retaliate against perceived threats to its national security. (ILKHA)
