The announcement came after Biden canceled a series of foreign trips to address the impact of multiple hurricanes in the United States.

According to a statement from the White House, the new assistance will focus on strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities, with the inclusion of air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles, and critical munitions aimed at addressing Ukraine's urgent needs.

Over the coming months, the U.S. will further provide Ukraine with a range of military support. This includes hundreds of air defense interceptors, dozens of tactical air defense systems, additional artillery, large amounts of ammunition, and hundreds of armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, among other key military equipment.

President Zelensky expressed his gratitude for the new aid package in a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting that it includes long-range weapons. However, he did not specify the type of weapons and made no mention of the ongoing discussions regarding the use of Western weapons for long-range strikes inside Russia.

During their call, Biden and Zelensky also discussed Ukraine's "victory plan." The plan, which was presented to world leaders behind closed doors in September, was made public earlier on the same day as the call. (ILKHA)
