In a statement released on Monday, the union highlighted the urgent need for global demonstrations to expose the escalating violence and atrocities committed by Israeli forces against the Palestinian population.

The IUMS described the dire situation in Gaza, where residents are enduring severe hardships, including hunger, thirst, and bombings, leading to a landscape marked by devastation and loss. They asserted that the ongoing violence is not merely a military assault but constitutes a deliberate act of genocide, occurring in full view of the international community. The statement condemned these acts as war crimes, urging the global community to fulfill its legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities to address the ongoing massacres.

In light of the urgent situation, the union called upon the Muslim world and all advocates of freedom to take immediate and effective action in support of their brothers and sisters in Gaza. They urged individuals to organize massive protests, raise their voices on various platforms, and draw attention to the actions of what they termed a "terrorist and criminal occupation." The IUMS emphasized that every moment without action exacerbates the suffering of the Palestinian people and increases the toll of victims.

Moreover, 16 non-governmental Islamic organizations joined the call for immediate action, urging Arab and Muslim leaders to declare a state of emergency in response to what they described as an ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. This collective statement, known as the “Scholars of the Flood Statement,” was signed by a range of prominent Islamic organizations, including the Palestinian Scholars Association and the One Ummah Association.

The call to action also follows a recent plea from Abu Obaida, spokesperson for Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades, who urged Muslim scholars to enhance their solidarity and support for Gaza. The organizations called on Arab and Muslim leaders to mobilize their forces to confront the aggression and liberate holy sites, emphasizing the importance of providing comprehensive support to the Palestinian people. They further urged the annulment of normalization agreements with Israel, which they believe undermine the interests and dignity of the Muslim community.

As the situation in Gaza deteriorates, the calls for global solidarity and action continue to grow, highlighting the urgent need for a unified response to the plight of the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
