According to the latest data, the total number of paid employees in the industry, construction, and trade-services sectors rose by 2.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.
This growth brought the total number of paid employees to 15 million 883 thousand 831 in August 2024, up from 15 million 484 thousand 782 a year earlier.
While the industrial sector saw a slight decline of 0.8% in the number of paid employees, the construction sector experienced a significant increase of 6.9%. The trade-services sector also recorded growth, with a 3.7% increase in the number of employed individuals.
On a monthly basis, the number of paid employees remained relatively stable. There was a minimal decline of 0.4% in the industrial sector, while the construction and trade-services sectors saw slight increases of 0.4% and 0.1%, respectively. (ILKHA)
