Araghchi's visit to Oman is part of a broader diplomatic tour aimed at addressing the escalating conflict between Israel and Gaza.
The Iranian top diplomat arrived in Muscat following talks in Baghdad with Iraqi officials on Sunday. Prior to his visit to Oman, Araghchi held discussions in several key regional capitals, including Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, as part of Iran's effort to rally regional support and hold Israel accountable for its actions in Gaza.
During his meeting with the Omani Foreign Minister, the two sides discussed the latest regional issues and potential steps to curb the violence in Gaza, where intense fighting has resulted in thousands of casualties. Oman has long served as a mediator in regional conflicts and continues to engage with both sides of the dispute.
In a related development, Araghchi also met in Muscat with Mohammad Abdul Salam, spokesman and chief negotiator of Yemen’s national salvation government. This meeting underscores Iran’s broader regional outreach to forge unity among neighboring nations in light of the Gaza conflict and the ongoing instability in the Middle East.
The talks in Oman are part of Iran's intensified diplomatic efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and seek an end to the conflict that has drawn international condemnation. (ILKHA)
