Maduro made these remarks during a pro-Palestinian rally in La Guaira on Saturday, where he expressed Venezuela’s solidarity with the victims of Israeli attacks in Lebanon and Gaza.
Maduro denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, comparing him to Adolf Hitler, and criticized global leaders for their silence in the face of what he described as "genocide" perpetrated by the Israeli occupation. "We are witnessing the actions of a murderer who only reminds us of Hitler," he stated, accusing Netanyahu of orchestrating the attack during his visit to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Hezbollah announced the martyrdom of Sayyed Nasrallah on Saturday, following an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs that destroyed several buildings. Hezbollah vowed to continue Nasrallah’s legacy of resistance, promising steadfastness in the face of Israeli aggression.
"On behalf of the Historical Bloc of the Revolution, I express my solidarity with the Lebanese people after the assassination of Islamic leader Sayyed Nasrallah," Maduro said during his speech. He further lambasted the inaction of international leaders, referring to them as "cowards," but asserted that "no one will silence the rebellious, revolutionary people."
Maduro, who has long supported the Palestinian cause, reiterated his condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza and Lebanon, calling on Muslims, Arabs, and people across the world to unite in solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples. He also criticized international institutions, including the United Nations and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), for failing to act against the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Maduro’s remarks come amid rising tensions in the Middle East, as Israeli forces continue their military operations in Gaza and Lebanon. The Venezuelan president has consistently criticized Western governments and international organizations for their complicity in Israel’s actions, calling for an end to the violence and greater international intervention to protect the rights of the Palestinian people.
In April, Maduro specifically called out the ICJ for its inaction in the face of Israeli attacks on Gaza, accusing the international community of turning a blind eye to the destruction of Palestinian lives and infrastructure. He renewed his call for the ICJ to take decisive action to halt what he referred to as Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people.
