A series of explosions occurred in Beirut, South Lebanon, and Bekaa in the afternoon, causing widespread fires and damage to cars, motorbikes, stores, and homes. The blasts resulted in numerous casualties, with injuries ranging from mild to severe.
Medical facilities in Bekaa received most of the injured, while hospitals in Nabatieh and Southern Lebanon treated dozens of others affected by the explosions.
The Lebanese Army urged the public to avoid crowding public spaces during the ongoing security operation to allow ambulances and emergency responders to reach the injured more efficiently. Meanwhile, Lebanese Civil Defense teams were dispatched to extinguish fires and transport victims to nearby hospitals.
In response to the attacks, Interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati called for an urgent United Nations Security Council session to address the escalating situation. He confirmed that a formal complaint had been filed against Israel’s actions, stating, "No human can express the brutality of this crime."
The explosions followed Israeli bombardments on Tuesday and Wednesday, which targeted several locations in Southern Lebanon, including Jebbayn, Shama, Majdal Zoun, Kfar Kila, Kfar Shouba, Houla, and Taybeh. (ILKHA)
