Health Minister Firas al-Abiad confirmed the rising number of casualties and provided an update on the injured.
According to Abyad, the explosions have injured between 2,570 and 2,800 people. This includes 750 from the southern regions, 150 from Bekaa, and 1,850 from the suburbs. Many of the injured are in critical condition and are receiving intensive care, with 460 surgeries already performed.
The Minister credited the Ministry’s emergency response plan with effectively coordinating the treatment efforts. He emphasized that all available ambulances were deployed to transport patients to around 100 hospitals, including those in northern areas. Additionally, some of the injured have been transferred to Iran and Syria for advanced medical care.
The explosions, which took place simultaneously at 3:30 PM local time on Tuesday, were caused by devices hidden in pagers. Hezbollah has accused the Israeli occupation regime of orchestrating the attacks and has promised to retaliate. (ILKHA)
