The event took place in the village of Bansko, near the town of Strumica, beginning with the recitation of the Qur’an, followed by poetry readings and hymns. During this emotional program, researcher and author Özkan Yaman delivered a speech after the recitation of the Mawlid, highlighting the significance of the day.
In his speech, Yaman expressed his satisfaction with the Mawlid al-Nabi event being held in Macedonia and extended his thanks to those who contributed to its organization. He shared examples from the morals and life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), emphasizing the importance of adopting his ethics in people’s daily lives.
Yaman noted that Allah (swt) described the Prophet in the best way, calling him a ‘mercy to all worlds.’ Thus, he stressed that the Prophet must be taken as a role model in every aspect of life.
Yaman shared an anecdote in which he describes the role of Khadijah, the mother of Muslims, and her role in assisting the Prophet during difficult times. He reminded the audience of the moment when the Prophet (pbuh) came down from the Cave of Hira, and that he was sweating, trembling, and shivering, asking to be covered. “Our mother Khadijah,” Özkan Yaman said, “while wiping the sweat from his forehead, reassured him with heartfelt words: ‘By Allah, He will not disgrace you; by Allah, He will not abandon you, do not be afraid!’ She emphasized his virtues by explaining, ‘You take care of your kin, look after the poor, are truthful in word and deed, help orphans and those who have lost their way, and uphold the rights of the oppressed. By Allah, He will not abandon you.’”
Yaman continued, “Then, a divine sign of praise came from the heavens. From seven heavens, a greeting was sent, honoring none other than our mother Khadijah. This celestial affirmation highlighted her significant role in supporting and comforting the Prophet during such critical times.”
The event, which saw the participation of numerous attendees from nearby villages, ended with a prayer conducted by Özkan Yaman. (ILKHA)
