The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed the arrest during a press conference on Wednesday night.
GBI Director Chris Hosey identified the suspect as Colt Gray, a student at the school, who will face charges of murder for the deaths of two teachers and two students. The victims have been named as 14-year-old Mason Schermerhorn, 14-year-old Christian Angulo, 39-year-old Richard Aspinwall, and 53-year-old Christina Irimie.
Both Aspinwall and Irimie were math teachers at the school, and Aspinwall also served as an assistant football coach, according to the school's website.
Gray, who is expected to be tried as an adult, allegedly opened fire on Wednesday morning, resulting in the deaths of four and injuries to nine others – eight students and one teacher. The injured were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. Authorities have yet to provide a motive for the shooting.
The tragic incident has shaken the Winder community, and a full investigation is underway. The GBI continues to gather information on the case as families and students mourn the loss of their loved ones. (ILKHA)
