In a written statement, the foundation responded to HAMAS Leader Ismail Haniyeh’s call for all Arab, Islamic, and world nations to take to the streets on Saturday, August 3rd, to support the people of Gaza who are suffering from the genocide inflicted by the zionist occupying regime and the Palestinian prisoners in occupation jails.

The Prophet Lovers expressed strong support for Haniyeh’s call, starting their statement with the Quranic verse, “What is [the matter] with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, ‘Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?’” (Nisa-75).

Following Haniyeh’s statements, the foundation invited all people of conscience to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza and join the demonstrations worldwide on August 3rd.

The statement emphasized Haniyeh’s remarks that Israel has been committing genocide against the people of Gaza for nearly 10 months, with an unprecedented increase in the number of prisoners dying in Israeli jails, and that there is a systematic smear campaign regarding the conditions of the prisoners. Haniyeh highlighted severe human rights violations, including psychological and physical torture, slow killing, and deprivation of treatment, food, and medicine for detainees in Gaza.

He noted the international community’s inability to stop these attacks on the Palestinian people and prisoners, the support of the US administration for these assaults, and the failure of human rights organizations to provide the necessary support to the people of Gaza and the prisoners.

Continuing, the statement mentioned Haniyeh’s declaration of August 3rd as a day of national and international solidarity for the people of Gaza and prisoners in Israeli jails, calling on all Islamic, Arab, and world nations to organize demonstrations on that day. He urged that the protests continue until the attacks on the people of Gaza and prisoners cease.

“We, as the Prophet Lovers Foundation, also call on all concerned individuals to join the events on Saturday, August 3rd, to be the voice of the people of Gaza and the prisoners, to call for an end to the oppression of the people of Gaza, and to demand humane conditions for the prisoners,” the statement concluded.
