The legislative process began following the adoption of a motion to discuss HÜDA PAR's proposal, which targets dual citizens who participated in the genocide. The proposal includes stripping these individuals of their Turkish citizenship, freezing and confiscating their assets, and imposing aggravated life imprisonment for their involvement in genocide.
The bill, consisting of six articles, is anticipated to be on the General Assembly’s agenda this week. Elbek emphasized the significance of the proposal, stating, "HÜDA PAR made a law proposal in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye about Türkiye and Zionist dual citizens. This law proposal is very important. The people of Türkiye already support Palestine and stand against the Zionist murderer Israel."
Elbek urged all parties in the parliament to support the proposal, highlighting the urgency due to the ongoing conflict. "We call on all parties. Come and support this proposal together. Support this bill for the oppressed, for the Palestinians, and for the 50,000 martyrs," he said. He also stressed the importance of passing the bill before the parliament goes into recess to prevent further massacres by Israel in Gaza.
Elbek concluded by expressing optimism for the proposal's enactment, saying: "In this context, this law proposal is actually very good. The proposal is very important, so hopefully HÜDA PAR's proposal will be successfully enacted into law." (ILKHA)
