Measured against the 2020 base year (2020=100), the Agriculture-PPI climbed 1.95% from the previous month, marking a 21.91% increase since December of the previous year and a substantial 54.58% increase from the same month in the prior year. Over a twelve-month moving average, the index showed a significant 61.49% increase.
Sector-specific changes revealed a 1.99% monthly increase in products from agriculture, hunting, and related services, while products from forestry, logging, and related services saw a 0.59% increase. Fish and other fishing products, including aquaculture products and support services to fishing, also rose by 2.17%.
Breaking down changes by main agricultural groups, non-perennial crops surged by 9.72%, while perennial crops experienced a slight decrease of 4.23%. Live animals and animal products showed a minimal increase of 0.01%.
Among subgroups, oleaginous fruits stood out with an impressive annual increase of 156.24%. In contrast, pome fruits and stone fruits experienced the largest monthly decline at 22.70%.
