Erdoğan mentioned that both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iraqi Prime Minister have expressed interest in holding talks in Türkiye, suggesting Ankara's potential role in mediation efforts with neighboring countries.
"We will extend our invitation; with this invitation to Bashar Assad, we want to restore Türkiye-Syria relations to the same level as in the past. Our invitation may be extended at any time," Erdoğan stated, emphasizing Türkiye's readiness to engage with Syria under certain conditions.
"We have now arrived at a point where if Bashar Assad takes a step towards improving relations with Türkiye, we will also show that approach towards him."
Erdoğan also commented on recent diplomatic efforts between Israel and Hamas, noting talks between the head of MOSSAD and Hamas officials in Doha. He mentioned positive developments towards a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, stating that "a ceasefire may happen 'at any moment'." He attributed the outcome to the stance of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. (ILKHA)
