In his address on Sunday, July 7, Erbaş extended greetings to Türkiye, the global Muslim community, and humanity at large, expressing aspirations for "peace, tranquility, and prosperity" in the upcoming year.
"These days prompt us to reflect on the significance of time," Erbaş noted. "By accurately perceiving and effectively planning our time, we can maximize its potential and build a better future by learning from our past."
Erbaş emphasized the historical importance of the Hijri Calendar, highlighting Prophet Muhammad's Hijrah as a testament to resilience against oppression and a commitment to justice, mercy, and righteousness.
"Hijrah was more than a journey to escape hardship; it was a struggle under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad against injustice and tyranny, striving to uphold values like truth, justice, and human dignity," Erbaş explained. "It represents efforts to establish an Islamic civilization based on unity and righteousness."
The President underscored Hijrah as a model for promoting virtues such as brotherhood, solidarity, sacrifice, and sincerity at individual and societal levels. He praised the steadfastness of the Muslim community during Hijrah, where migrants (Muhajirun) and their supporters (Ansar) in Medina exemplified unwavering faith and dedication to Islamic principles.
"In interpreting Hijrah in this context, we find inspiration to confront and overcome adversity and trials, aiming to construct a brighter future," Erbaş emphasized.
He concluded his message by extending congratulations to the Muslim world on the new year, praying for a year filled with peace, tranquility, and prosperity for Türkiye, its people, and humanity as a whole in the year 1446 of the Hijri Calendar. (ILKHA)
