This year's celebration, carrying the theme "Jihad Leader Prophet Muhammad," promises a day of spiritual reflection and commemoration of the Prophet's life.

Excitement is palpable as the foundation finalizes preparations at the venue. A grand stage is ready to host scholars and speakers, while a powerful sound system will ensure everyone can hear the program clearly. Attendees can explore a vibrant bazaar area offering Islamic goods and traditional food. Organizers have also prioritized safety and well-being by setting up a health tent and dedicated areas for lost children.

However, a shadow has been cast on the preparations by a dispute over transportation. The foundation's application to Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality for free public buses to ferry attendees to the event was met with rejection. This decision has caused frustration, particularly since the municipality reportedly allocated free vehicles for a recent sporting event.

Ercan Fidan, a member of the organizing committee, expressed disappointment at the municipality's stance. "We believe in the sensitivity of our people on this issue," he said. "Thankfully, many volunteers have come forward with their own vehicles to transport residents free of charge. As one volunteer said, 'There will be no problem at the point of transport.'"

The theme selection, "Jihad Leader Prophet Muhammad," reflects the foundation's desire to address contemporary issues. Organizers aim to explore the concept of jihad in the context of current events, particularly the ongoing struggles faced by the Muslim world, exemplified by the recent events in Gaza. By examining the Prophet's approach to jihad, the event hopes to inspire attendees and foster a spirit of unity and perseverance.

The Prophet’s Lovers Foundation extends a warm invitation to everyone in Diyarbakır to participate in this special event. "In the Mawlid al Nabi event, the beauties of the Prophet's life and his exemplary behaviors are explained to us," Fidan remarked. "We all need the morals, sunnah and sirah of our Prophet more than ever. We want to remind this awareness with the events we organize every year. Therefore, we want everyone to participate in these events."

This year's Mawlid al Nabi event in Diyarbakır promises to be a unique blend of spiritual discourse, cultural celebration, and community spirit. Despite the transportation hurdle, the foundation's dedication and the unwavering support of volunteers ensure a successful and meaningful event for all participants. (ILKHA)
