In a press release, the Ministry condemned these statements for distorting historical facts and violating international law. They acknowledged the European Court of Human Rights' (ECHR) position recognizing the 1915 events as a legitimate topic for debate.

However, the Ministry argued that these "biased and partial" narratives hinder reconciliation efforts between Turkey and Armenia. They further expressed concern that such statements embolden radical groups and incite hate crimes.

The press release concluded with a call to action. The Ministry urged all parties to support their proposal for a Joint Historical Commission with Armenia and the ongoing efforts to normalize relations between the two countries. (ILKHA)
