According to a Ministry statement, the militants opened harassing fire in the Euphrates Shield region, disrupting the peace and security of the area. Turkish forces retaliated, resulting in the deaths of the four militants.
The Euphrates Shield region was the target of a Turkish military operation between 2016 and 2017 aimed at clearing the area of ISIS and YPG fighters. Türkiye considers the YPG, the Syrian affiliate of the PKK, to be a terrorist organization. (ILKHA)
