The Hebrew media quoted israeli police sources as saying 57-year-old Sabah Abdel Salam Haneyya, who is an israeli citizen, was taken into custody during a raid in the town of Tel Sheva as part of an investigation that also involves Israel’s intelligence agency Shin Bet.
The police identified the detainee as the sister of Hamas leader Ismail Haneyya, saying the raid on her house was dubbed “Early Dawn.”
According to the Hebrew media, Haneyya’s sister was arrested on suspicion of having ties to Hamas and engaging in incitement and support for the Palestinian resistance.
She will appear at the Beersheba magistrate court later today for a hearing on her detention.
According to The Times of Israel website, Haneyya has two brothers and eight sisters — three of them are married to Bedouin-Israeli citizens and live in Tel Sheva. (ILKHA)
