The disaster occurred late Sunday night in the Tatin Dara area of Norgaram district following heavy rain and snowfall, with women and children among the victims, according to Sabir.
Rescue operations are underway, with authorities working tirelessly to locate and assist survivors, Sabir added.
The landslide also resulted in the destruction or severe damage of approximately 20 houses in the affected area.
While confirming the incident, spokesman for the national disaster authority Mullah Janan Saeq noted that the casualty count may fluctuate as rescue efforts progress.
