Ghebreyesus revealed that the hospital, which has been subjected to a weeklong Israeli military siege followed by ongoing raids, is now non-functional. He expressed frustration over the WHO team's repeated denial of entry to assess the conditions of patients and address critical medical needs.

"Despite our efforts to deliver fuel alongside partners, access to the hospital has been restricted. Approximately 200 patients remain trapped, with at least 20 requiring urgent referral to other medical facilities for essential care," stated Ghebreyesus.

Emphasizing that every patient has the right to medical referral, the WHO Director-General warned that further delays could result in loss of lives. He urged immediate facilitation of access to the hospital and patients to avert a humanitarian catastrophe. (ILKHA)
