The US and Russia meet for Aleppo in Geneva

The situation in Aleppo is being discussed today in Geneva, Switzerland, at a meeting of US and Russian military experts and diplomats.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said at the meeting that they are hopeful to agree on a plan would rescue the city "without being completely settled".

Kerry said in a statement he made in Paris last night that the current ceasefire will provide for the removal of civilians as well as dissidents from the city and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the city.

On the other hand, while the United Nations General Assembly wanted to declare a ceasefire immediately in Syria, the decision drafted by Canada was approved by the majority of the 122 members of the UN General Assembly. Thirteen countries, along with Russia and China, rejected the bill. In the meantime, 36 countries were abstained.

It is being wondered how the US and Russia, which have signed massacres in Syria for nearly 6 years and have made all kinds of political and military manipulations for the continuation of the war, will come to a conclusion. (ILKHA)
